Postural Education
Postural Education
Posture refers to the way we typically hold our bodies both in static positions and during movement. Contrary to the common belief that posture is static, it is actually dynamic and can change throughout the day. Frequent movement and changing positions are beneficial as they help stretch and nourish our tissues with a good blood supply. At Ataraxia, our posture education program includes a thorough assessment of postures while sitting and standing. This assessment helps us determine the treatment to follow. Our posture education also includes ergonomic recommendations for desk height, keyboard type and position, and chair type and adjustment. These adjustments are essential to establishing an efficient work environment, reducing stress, and promoting proper posture during activities that require sitting for long periods of time.
At Ataraxia, we treat the whole person. While our personalized home exercise programs and manual therapies are essential, integrating proper posture and positioning into daily life is key to preventing the recurrence of pain. Our treatment approach ensures that patients receive comprehensive care that addresses both immediate concerns and long-term health.
